Fernridge Nature Park

From Horne Pit (sand and gravel mine) to Fernridge Nature Park. The Little Campbell Watershed Society (LCWS) has worked with the Township of Langley (ToL) to protect the wetland and the riparian area of the Little Campbell River. The ToL also purchased an adjacent property to the south that the Little Campbell River runs through to 24th Avenue protecting that part of the river as well. Without the work of the LCWS this area may have become housing and business park with just the minimum setback for the river to run through the property. It shows what can happen when communities and governments work together.

Fergus Biodiversity Preserve

The Little Campbell Watershed Society worked with the City of Surrey to encourage them to protect a portion of the headwaters of Fergus Creek. The preserve protects a portion of the creek, small forested area, meadow, and wetland that provides a variety of habitats for wildlife.
